here is a programmatic translation cento of my poem “Lot’s Wife” using GP2. i struggle with finding ownership over this poem as i didn’t really choose all the words and it’s completely different from the original. i had fun though!!

Lot’s Wife, Translated

i had a very difficult time with the idea of wearing a bra in the winter.

i was also afraid that he might go out with someone

i became a monster.

he had never seen me as anything

it was just too awful

and then it was over

a cloud of black mist spread across the sky

i was lost

alizahaskal

wandering through lusty miami tanned skin sweet cafe con leche a grain of sand is stuck between my front teeth when i went to the beach i stuck my water bottle upright in the sand like a flag on the moon and the sand stuck to the condensation and i know the sand will secretly migrate into the cupholders in my car but it’s okay because i love the sand and i love my car and i love and i love the sun

alizahaskal

worm on ground

abandoned without words

roots around for loam

discovers only concrete

stomach holding stones

sections unfold slowly

forging forward

across sloping topography

not lonely,

only alone
